Overview

Join our team at the Huntington at Nashua as the Director of Life Enrichment!  The Huntington at Nashua is the home to residents aged 62 and better and provides premium services in our non-profit, continuing care retirement community.  In this important role, the Director of Life Enrichment is a contributing member of the leadership team directly responsible for implementing the activity program with our residents.

Responsibilities

Gerneral responsibilites will cover, but not limited to, the following:

 

  • Responsible for transportation services to include trips excursion and medical appointments, also includes maintaining a transportation schedule for company vehicles
  • Overseeing trip planning and implementation for the residents
  • Overseeing fitness programming
  • Work closely with the Volunteer coordinator to promote the Volunteer program
  • Developing monthly activity calendars of scheduled events and posting one week prior to end of month.  Maintaining touch town website and updating community resources such as television channels in house monitor and any program changes on bulletin boards.
  • Maintaining a file on program sources, including entertainers, speakers, resource groups that will plan social activities, people with home slides, etc.
  • Annually attending Community sponsored body mechanics, right-to-know laws, disaster and fire and safety procedures programs.
  • Hiring and training Life Enrichment staff using proper Personnel practices and adhering to facility policies.  
  • Planning, promoting, implementing and leading social, educational, spiritual and recreational activities for all levels of care
  • Meeting any new residents to establish background information on likes and dislikes.
  • Helping to prepare a depatment budget and maintain, through careful control, adherence to the approved budget.
  • Assuming accountability for Safety/Risk Management in the department.
  • Accident investigation and implementation of corrective action within the department.
  • Attending and participating in Department Head Meetings.
  • Working evening and weekend shifts as needed.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

     

Qualifications

 

  • Must have good organizational skills with the ability to implement programs suitable to all residents.
  • Must act in a professional manner with a pleasant attitude.
  • Completion of a Director of Life Enrichment course or a willingness to do so in the future.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of any state regulations pertaining to the Activities Department.
  • Skills in developing, organizing, and executing crafts and recreational programs.
  • Ability to do necessary documentation.
