Overview

Coordinate and manage medical transportation requests adhering to company and department policies and procedures. Communicate clearly and timely with staff and residents regarding availability and confirm details directly with resident.  Provide professional courteous to residents and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Attend various meetings as requested by management.
  • Attend annual in-service programs and other required training as assigned.
  • Work positively and cooperatively with all department personnel as well as residents to provide a welcoming environment.
  • Have a working knowledge of all HIPA policies and procedures.
  • Flexible weekly work schedule that may include weekend or evening hours.
  • Manage incoming medical transportation requests with residents directly and/or Healthcare staff.
  • To best meet residents needs, provide medical transportation in a flexible manner based on drivers availability.
  • Coordinate, as needed, with Life Enrichment staff for support medical transportation coverage.
  • As needed be available for trip transportation coverage.
  • Maintain clean exterior and interior of transportation vehicles.
  • Maintain sufficient fuel in transportation vehicles.
  • Keep open ongoing communication with Facilities maintenance department and Life Enrichment management regarding safety and wellbeing of transportation vehicles.
  • Daily, review interior and exterior of transportation vehicles to ensure proper functionality.
  • Before and following each transportation inspect transportation vehicles, report any accidents, scrapes, dents etc., utilizing proper incident reporting.
  • Report all/any resident accidents during transportation immediately.
  • Have working knowledge of all transportation safety features such as but not limited to seatbelts, wheelchair lifts and wheelchair tie-downs.
  • Collaborate as needed with management and Medical Transportation to accommodate transportation requests.
  • Maintain “Trip Transportation” Calendar based on updates/changes as needed to the Monthly Calendar
  • Provide trip suggestions/input to management and be flexible during a trip to enhance the residents experience.
  • Update trip signup sheets to include trip details from calendar entries.

Qualifications

  • Valid New Hampshire Drivers License.
  • Have ‘Medical Examiner’s Certificate’ renewed every 2 years.
  • Prior experience working in a residential community, preferably with seniors.
  • Well organized and detail oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills and positive attitude.
  • Excellent networking skills
  • High school education or higher.
  • Excellent clerical and computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required
