Overview

Webster at Rye is seeking a Full‑Time Activities Assistant to complete our amazing Activities team! We are seeking a reliable, motivated, and flexible team member to join our organization. This position requires adaptability, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment. The ideal candidate is professional, dependable, and comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively.
 
This position offers a schedule of Sunday through Wednesday, 9:00am-5:30pm.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and lead activity groups for the appropriate level physical, emotional and cognitive ability. Communicating level of success
  • Independently develop plan and lead own activity that enhances the monthly calendar, ensuring a diverse and engaging program for residents
  • Interviews with new residents within the first two weeks of moving into Kent Village.
  • Keeping work area, including desk and Activity Room, neat and orderly at all times.
  • Meeting monthly with LE Director to discuss the monthly activity calendar.
  • Lead activities based on the daily activity hand handout. set up and put back everything required for the activity.
  • Maintain store and request necessary supplies. The monthly supply list is to be given to the director 2nd Friday of each month.
  • Assisting in transporting residents who require assistance to attend activities.
  • Review with direct supervisor daily and upcoming scheduled events.
  • Reporting to Direct supervisor any changes that could indicate distress or cognitive change.
  • Documenting in communication log, attending resident care plan meetings as direct by supervisor. Following up with proper care plan documentation
  • Assisting Life Enrichment team in ongoing evaluation of activity program in order to improve the programs and better meet the needs of the residents.
  • Provide orientation and ongoing guidance for volunteers
  • Engage and assist visually impaired residents with scheduled activities ensuring accessibility.
  • Individual responsibility for self-safety and that of the immediate work environment.
  • Attend and comply with mandatory in-services training.
  • Attending monthly Life Enrichment Staff Meetings.
  • Other tasks as requested.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Lead assist and adapt activities based on resident needs and abilities
  • High degree of patience and tolerance and adaptability.
  • Skill in leading a group in an organized activity.
  • Ability to make adjustment during an activity to accommodate the group.
  • Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and evenings.
  • Maintaining a warm and friendly engaging demeanor to foster positive interaction with residents and staff members
  • Ability to engage and motivate residents of varying ability.
  • Ability to operate tech equipment that is needed to run an activity. Such as but not limited to TV/DVD player, computer, microphones, etc.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and carry out delegated tasks.
  • Ability to understand and follow the policies and procedures outlined in the handbook.
  • Ability to push , pull, lift up to 50lbs.
